The west of England championships

The B.S.J.C Junior's were fantastic last Sunday.
Superb attitudes win or lose Nick,Gem and I were so proud of them.

Elle was off first but still suffering from a bout of tonsillitus but she fought courageously winning bronze .
Hannah Pitt was a force to be reckoned with winning all of her fights with an air of confidence and technical superiority .

Joe Andrew's had 1 fight and won it in 3 second's with a massive ippon.gold for the second year running.

Toby Attwood was up next fighting in his own style fought well winning his way through to the final ,here he lost to a very talented player from polkyth Cornwall but toby did make him look normal so a well deserved silver.

Isaac Mathew's was a legend first big comp ever and he drew the favorite in the first fight.Isaac in his "happy go lucky style" swung his opponent around and threw him.Isaac eventually lost to him in a hold down. He eventually fought and won in a intense battle for a well deserved bronze medal.

Megan Robinson was the usual warrior never lacking in confidence she won her first 2 fights against bigger girl's .She eventually won the silver medal.

Tasha Okoye only had one fight but boy was it impressive uchimata right makikomi left for a top class ippon.

Steph Walker and Elissa Brittain fought up weight groups and totally out attacked all of their opponents eventually winning silver and bronze.

Kelly Wilson still suffering with a back problem fought in her group and totally dominated her opponents.she was totally in a class of her own.
Ben Papuca out attacked everyone but lacked finishing but even with this flaw fought through to the finals and was all over his opponent
But still lacked the finishing prowess. His opponent should have been penalized for his lack of attacks but hey winning by 10 is the B.S.J.C preferred outcome . Great result though for a 13 year old in a under 16 comp weighing in at the bottom of the weight cat.

Last but not least was Ben Attwood this boy has worked so hard to get to this point . I've changed most of his judo over the past year and he has had tough and frustrating times.
2 weeks ago at a comp he had a very tough time but I'm sure he now understand's why I put him there.
On this day he was the Champ winning his fight with controlled flair willing to try any instruction I threw at him. Ben won the last final of the day with a superb foot sweep for ippon. The supporters were once again the best in the world. A great day out for the "FAMILY " and it was Emma's 22nd birthday.
